Hallmark actor, model, and reality TV star winner Ezra Moreland chatted about his latest endeavors in the entertainment industry.

Moreland sat down and chatted with this journalist on Monday, July 21st, over lunch at Burgerology Midtown. We discussed a wide variety of topics from films to reality TV to commercials to persevering and not giving up.

On being in New York City, Moreland said, “It’s interesting. It feels more like a sense of home than I was expecting. So, it feels great, and I love everything about this city so far.”

On visiting Burgerology Midtown, he admitted, “It’s my few favorite New York spot. I’ll definitely be back for that skillet cookie and ice cream dessert.”

Regarding his daily motivations, he shared, “I have a calling to greatness to make my family proud, and just to reach my full potential.”

Moreland was the first-ever winner of Hallmark’s reality show “Finding Mr. Christmas.” “That was a blessing in every way that I didn’t even expect,” he noted.

“The things I’ve learned from that experience still benefit me to this day… the things I learned about myself and from others,” he added.

On celebrating the win of the Hallmark reality show with his grandmother, he stated, “It was truly like Christmas to me because that was like a gift to her, and that filled my heart with so much love because she was so happy and not expecting anything.”

Moreland subsequently proclaimed it as his “favorite moment of all time.”

“To this day, my grandma is my biggest fan and I want to make her proud. Getting to share that with her meant the world to me in every way,” he added.

His win led him to do his first Hallmark holiday movie titled “Happy Howlidays” with actress Jessica Lowndes as his leading lady. “I am so lucky I got to work with her as the leading lady,” he admitted. “I still benefit from everything I learned from Jessica. She is such a sweet, talented, and generous person.”

“Jessica has taught me more than she knows, and I still live by it,” he noted.

On the lessons learned from this holiday screenplay (penned by Allyssa Lee), Moreland reflected, “This film taught me that I can access every part of my life as a gift that has made me who I am, and it has showed me that I have so much to offer the world.”

Earlier in the year, he was a part of a Lexus commercial. “It was a blast,” he exclaimed. “Not only did we get to do some really cool artistic scenes, where we created this whole story, but I also got to be the stunt driver.”

On his future plans, Moreland revealed, “I am fully committed in the film world now, and it’s crazy because now I know how much I don’t know. The more I learn about acting, the more I realize how deep the art goes, and I am even more impressed by the greats, and I just hope to be one of them someday.”

“Over the last five years, I see a lot of growth and I am proud of the times that were challenging and I didn’t stop following my heart,” Moreland acknowledged.

“My grandma, Shirley, always told me to ‘follow my heart,’ so thanks to her I haven’t given up; that proves the strength of my faith, and I am going to keep following that,” he elaborated.

On the title of the current chapter of his life, Moreland disclosed, “Don’t stop following your heart.”

Moreland has a passion for fitness, athletics and aquatics, and he is a U.S. Navy Rescue swimmer veteran.

Moreland listed the IM (individual medley) as his favorite stroke in swimming, which involves all of them (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and the freestyle). “If I had to choose one stroke, it would be the breaststroke,” he revealed.

In track and field, he listed the javelin throw as his personal favorite event. “I actually go to throw the javelin in high school,” he recalled.

“I do love it because it’s such an old-school Olympic sport (from back in the olden days). The javelin is just really cool,” Moreland added.

On his definition of the word success, Moreland said, “Success will look different to everybody but as long as you have a happy heart and excitement, then I consider that a success.”

“As soon as you achieve your goal, there is always going to be something else,” he noted. “So, success is following your heart and having that sense of love in yourself and having excitement in your everyday life.”

For his fans and supporters, Moreland expressed, “Thank you so much for the support and for believing in me, and I am learning that the more you stick to positivity and love, then the better you are going to do.”

“I’ve been very blessed to receive a lot of love and support from my fans. So, thank you to each and every one of you… the best is yet to come,” Moreland said, effusively.
