In the dazzling and often demanding world of fashion, few stars shine as brightly and with as much purpose as Dilara Kırmıt. From a young age, her deep connection to self-expression and the art of storytelling through clothing set her on a path that would lead her to the global stage. A true visionary, Kırmıt is not just a model but a creative force, transforming runways and photoshoots into living art. With her recent ventures into acting and her empowering "That Girl" initiative, she is redefining what it means to be a modern icon, proving that determination, passion, and a unique vision can take you from the catwalk to Hollywood and beyond.
1. What inspired you to start your modeling career?
From a very young age, I felt deeply connected to fashion and self-expression. The stage, the lights, and the art of storytelling through clothes inspired me to start early. Modeling became not just a career, but a way to share my inner world with the outside world.
2. How did winning second place at the World Next Top Model competition impact you?
It was a turning point in my life. Representing Turkey on a global stage and bringing home second place made me realize how powerful determination and discipline can be. It gave me international recognition and opened doors to collaborations with worldwide brands.
3. What challenges have you faced in the fashion industry?
The fashion industry is fast-paced and very competitive. One of the biggest challenges was proving myself not only as a pretty face but also as a professional with vision and discipline. Balancing constant travel, criticism, and the pressure to always look perfect required resilience.
4. How do you blend fashion and art in your work?
For me, fashion is an art form. Every photoshoot, runway, and editorial is like painting a canvas. I merge my passion for visual aesthetics with storytelling, so each project feels like a piece of living art rather than just a job.
5. Can you share a memorable collaboration with a brand?
Working as a beauty ambassador for international haircare and skincare brands was unforgettable. Those campaigns not only allowed me to represent products I truly believe in, but also gave me the chance to connect with women who see me as a role model.
6. What motivated you to transition into acting?
I always believed that fashion and acting are connected through storytelling. Acting gave me the opportunity to explore emotions, characters, and narratives on a deeper level.
7. What message do you want to convey through your “That Girl” initiative?
“That Girl” is about inspiring young women to embrace their uniqueness and strength. It’s not just about looks; it’s about confidence, independence, and living life unapologetically. I want women to know that they can create their own paths and be “that girl” in their own story.
8. How does your “Marry Geberts” persona influence your creative projects?
Marry Geberts is my alter-ego, a storyteller that allows me to transform personal experiences into art. Through her, I express emotions, narratives, and deeper reflections that sometimes can’t be captured only through modeling. She represents freedom, resilience, and creativity in my projects.
9. What is the key to maintaining discipline in such a competitive field?
Discipline comes from passion. I wake up every day knowing this is not just a job, but my calling. Staying consistent with my routines, training, and mental focus helps me stay grounded. I also practice gratitude, which gives me balance in this high-pressure industry.
10. What are your aspirations for the future in the fashion industry?
I aspire to expand my presence globally, particularly in Hollywood and New York. My vision is to merge modeling, acting, and creative writing into one unique brand. I see myself not only on runways and screens, but also as a storyteller, inspiring people through fashion, film, and art.
